Jose Garza

Native Houstonian Jose Luis Garza has been playing violin for 29 years. He has studied violin and viola with Albert Muenzer, Lawrence Wheeler, Kenneth Goldsmith, and Boson Mo. Jose has been on faculty with MECA (Multicultural Education and Counseling through the Arts), FMM (Foundation for Modern Music), and AFA (American Festival for the Arts). He has worked as a private instructor, group instructor, and sectional coach for several schools and organizations, and has been violinist and violist for Galveston Symphony Orchestra, Symphony of Southeast Texas, Texas Medical Center Orchestra, and the Woodlands Symphony Orchestra. In addition to being a member and co-founder of Chamber Collective, Jose is currently an engineer at Microsoft, teaches violin at Memorial Music, serves as concertmaster of the Houston Chinese Orchestra, performs with the Woodlands Symphony and Symphony of Southeast Texas, and performs chamber music in the Houston area.
