1st Young Artists PIANO COMPETITION 2023

Ponce Project Foundation invites all young pianists to its

1st PIANO COMPETITION 2023 featuring music by Manuel M. Ponce.

GENERAL GUIDELINES

1. There is only one round.

2. Participants can enter only one of the following three divisions by age:

Elementary Division: 6 to 10 years old on Nov 5, 2023.

Junior Division: 11 to 14 years old on Nov 5, 2023.

Senior Division: 15 to 18 years old on Nov 5, 2023.

3. Participants will choose one piece out of the five options given for each division:

ELEMENTARY DIVISION

JUNIOR DIVISION

SENIOR DIVISION 

4. Participants will perform from memory.

5. All repeat signs marked on the score must be executed.

6. Dress code is FORMAL: no T-shirts, sandals, shorts.

7. There are no refunds of registration fee.

8. The judges determine who the winners are, their decision being final and irrevocable. 

PRIZES

First place winners of each division will perform at the 

Ponce Project Foundation concert held at Rodolfo Morales’ home.

First place winners will receive the following cash prizes 

after their performances on Nov 9 & 12:

Elementary Division: $100

Junior Division: $150

Senior: $200

All competitors will receive written remarks and 

a Certificate of Participation.

DATES

Application deadline: October 1, 2023

Competition: Sunday November 5, 2023 at HSPVA, 9am – 12pm

Performances: Thursday November 9, 7:30pm 2023  & Sunday November 12, 2pm 2023

Registration Fee: $50

By paying the registration fee you broadly authorize Ponce Project Foundation the use of all photographs, video and sound recordings of your child produced during the competition and the prize performances.
