Violin

Violinist Dominika Dancewicz has been praised as “passionate and charismatic”, and her performances have been hailed as “transporting and thought-provoking”. As an orchestra and ensemble musician, she performed on the world’s most prestigious concert stages including the Berlin Philharmonic, Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Salle Pleyel in Paris, Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. and Carnegie Hall in New York. She collaborated with artists such as Christoph Eschenbach, Krzysztof Penderecki, Krystian Zimerman, Barry Douglas, and Tabea Zimmermann to name just a few. Her recording credits include Deutsche Grammophon, Dux, and Navona labels.

Ms. Dancewicz has performed with many renowned music groups in Houston and beyond: the New World Symphony, River Oaks Chamber Orchestra, Houston Ballet, Foundation for Modern Music, Opera Vista, Aperio Americas, Musiqua, Shreveport Symphony, and Victoria Bach Festival. She is the Concertmaster of the Opera in the Heights orchestra in Houston, she is also a member of the Classical Music Institute Chamber Orchestra of San Antonio (CMI).

An avid chamber musician, Dominika Dancewicz has performed with string ensembles in Europe, Asia, and the United States. She is the founding member of two Houston-based acclaimed groups: Axiom Quartet and Duo Dramatique. Axiom Quartet is a highly regarded string quartet performing both classical repertoires as well as non-classical music. In the summer of 2018, the quartet traveled to China for their first international tour, promoting their debut album. Duo Dramatique is an acclaimed violin and piano ensemble that hosts regular concert series at the University of St. Thomas in Houston and has given dozens of recitals in Texas including Tobin Center in San Antonio, Open Classical in Dallas, Cave Without a Name in Boerne, as well as in Georgetown, Colorado and Lake Charles, Louisiana. Both groups released their debut CDs in 2018 to high critical acclaim in the United States and Europe. Duo Dramatique released their second full-length album “Crossroads” on the Navona label in 2021.

Ms. Dancewicz is a highly sought-after teacher. She is a Professor of Violin at the University of St. Thomas in Houston, and also maintains a very busy private studio.
