Benilde Larios
Soprano
Benilde Larios holds two bachelor degrees: one in Music and another one in Music Education from the Universidad Veracruzana. She was a member of Voces de la Tierra and the Coro Vox Populi Project, performing at international festivals and various venues across Mexico. In 2015, she received the Professionalization of the Arts Scholarship, and in 2019 she was awarded the PECDA Tamaulipas grant for her project Mexican Women Composers: Dissemination and Interpretation of Repertoire for Voice and Piano. She has performed in notable festivals such as Ópera sin Límites, NunTempa, Festival Internacional de Ópera Mexicana and the Latin American Music Festival. She has trained with recognized vocal instructors and coaches, including Alejandra Sandoval, María Katzarava, Jesús Suaste, and Andrés Sarré.
In 2021, she attended the Opera Singer Workshop in Croatia with Marco Balderi and continued her training in Rome with Inés Salazar. She has also studied ballet, jazz, physical theater, mask work, clowning, and buffoonery to enhance her stage presence. Currently, she is part of L’acalet Dúo alongside guitarist Benjamín González and teaches specialized workshops integrating her expertise in music education and yoga, focusing on musicians’ physical and mental well-being. She is pursuing a Master’s degree in Mexican Concert Music Interpretation at the National Conservatory of Music and has recently been accepted into the Master’s program in Arts Pedagogy at the Universidad Veracruzana with her project The Education of the Music Student’s Body and Mind.
